I have been busy building a new niche website. It is very exciting! Are you curious to HOW I found my niche?
To answer your question – I was reading a “top list” for an established website. Example of one is Amazon. These top lists are extremely handy for everyone. Sellers can equipment themselves with growing trends and tap into the market. Niche marketers, like me, can discover markets that people are wanting. It’s really a win-win situation.
It can be labor intensive if you are picky like me. There were other niche potentials but they did not feel right. I always aim for great content and if I feel that I cannot provide that, I move on to something that I can. Another quality I search for is something that is exciting to write about.
I don’t expect it to be a grand market, we will have to see. My niche has a small base (which can be a very good thing). There are still little things that need to be done. I need to work on the tags, keywords, and marketing more.
The KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) is a bit low, just about 100. It is rumored anything above 100 is good, of course higher is better. If you are unsure what KEI is click here. There is much debate rather if this formula holds true. Then again there are a lot of SEO ideas, that can be just as controversy. I believe it’s more of the matter of getting your site known. At the end of the day, it really does depend on you and your efforts.
I am finding that the content is not as hard or time consuming as it may appear. Perhaps that’s due to the excitement of learning something new. Marketing the niche and designing the site for a professional feel is what I feel to be time consuming.
Many may disagree. Most will just add in a template. Fast and simple! I did add in a template, but once again I am picky. I rearranged and modified the codes and redid the banner to customize my needs. In the future, I may not be as strict, but this is my first niche website. I want to be proud.
